USDAW DIVISIONAL COUNCIL MEETING July 2018

Wednesday 25th July 2018 I attended the Divisional Council meeting at the Usdaw Redditch office.

Minutes from the previous DC meeting

We then read the minutes from the previous DC meeting. These were accepted. 

Minutes of the recent EC meeting

We read through the EC minutes.

Minutes from other Divisional Councils

We took a look at the minutes from other Divisional Councils. These were accepted.

Central office circulars and press releases

We looked through a selection of circulars from central office and a selection of press releases. These were accepted.

Divisional officers report
We received the Deputy Divisional officers report and Divisional officers report from Gareth Davies and Gavin Dadley.

Membership 436,440 nationally and 57,685 divisional.

 

Stand down recruitment - 1,734 new members recruited. 

181 reps done stand down so far. 

7,600 hours of stand down done so far out of a target of 12,000. 

Academy 1 - 2018.

8 organising officers.

Members recruited - 600

Academy 2 - 2018

4 organising officers.

Members recruited - 360

Reps recruited - 37

(1) Divisional Conference November 24th / 25th will take place at the Hilton hotel Warwick. 

(2) Women chain makers festival - We received a report from Michelle Whitehead. 

(3) The Divisional officer reported that a member of staff from the Kegworth office has just achieved 40 years service. 

(4) The low pay commission will be speaking with several reps from Usdaw to understand how there pay and contracted hours affect them. 

The Divisional officers report was read and all points noted/endorsed.

We then moved on to any other business.

The next USDAW Midlands Divisional Council Meeting will be on Wednesday 29th August 2018.
